Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, focused administrator to join the Perioperative Services Team on a 12 month fixed term contract - this post is Part Time (22.5 hours per week).

The Perioperative Services Governance Administrator will provide an efficient and effective clerical and administrative support service to the Perioperative Services Team in accordance with relevant policies and procedures. They will be required to manage their own workload and operate independently within the role. The candidate will demonstrate strong evidence towards contributing to the team objectives of the department in providing a high-quality service and support as required.

Main duties of the job

  1. To provide high-quality, administrative support to the Perioperative Services Team in all aspects of Clinical Governance and Quality Processes, working independently following agreed processes to support the team's workload.
  2. Compilation of evidence and data to support the monthly Perioperative Services Clinical Governance meeting.
  3. Undertaking reporting and analysis of quantitative and qualitative information to support delivery of the Governance agenda.
  4. Maintain and monitor the register of Policies and Procedures, issue prompts to document staff members / managers when reviews are due and provide administrative support for the review and updating of policies as required.
  5. Assist in the effective dissemination, monitoring and implementation of policies, processes and procedures relevant to the Perioperative Services environment.
  6. Minute / Note taking, coordinating, managing and providing full administrative support and the planning of meetings or events as required within the department.

We have 15 operating Theatres, 2 recovery areas, a Day Surgery Unit and a 23-hour, surgical short stay unit within our department. Qualifications

Essential

  • Qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent training and experience.
  • Significant administrative / secretarial experience including initiating and maintaining office systems.

Desirable

  • Accredited specialist computing skills

Experience

Essential

  • Accurate data input Data analysis.
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary working
  • Experience of producing work that is time critical and working to tight deadlines.
  • Experience of working under pressure and the and in an administrative environment.
  • Able to work on own initiative, organising and prioritising own and other's workloads to changing and often tight deadlines.
  • Awareness of external stakeholders and regulators.

Desirable

  • Experience of working within an NHS environment.
  • Previous risk management experience in any setting
  • Previous governance experience

Knowledge

Essential

  • Demonstrable good knowledge of IT systems and software programmes such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access, internet and email packages, virtual meeting software.
  • Ability to work independently and confidence to seek advice when appropriate.
