An opportunity has arisen to join our amazing Community Team. We are seeking a registered nurse with experience of working in a community setting and providing high quality training to others, to join our education team.
Main duties of the job
To underpin the delivery of 'care closer to home' and development, delivery, devising and sourcing of training and development programmes and resources for community staff.
To devise competencies, frameworks and supporting education and training to enable and support the development of evolving job roles within the community and towards and integrated care model, in line with the Trust strategy and Sustainability and Transformation plans.
The post-holder will be an experienced, knowledgeable practitioner who provides clinically based practice development and education to the non-medical workforce. They will role model best, evidence-based professional practice. The training and development educator is key to ensuring training is grounded in good practice and will be involved in the education element of clinical governance and quality assurance.

- To take a lead role for training and development within community services to ensure service needs are met to a high quality.
- To actively participate and contribute to the community transformation programmes proactively enabling change.
- To work with community leads to promote use of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) funding to underpin service transformation programmes.
- To work alongside and within teams to encourage and enable more efficient and improved systems of working.
- To support new Community staff including Preceptorship and local induction programmes on a rolling basis in response to recruitment.
- To conduct, update and maintain skills audits and training needs analysis to support present and future service delivery.
- To source, promote, devise and deliver a range of training and development programmes and solutions to meet the needs to the community services.
- To act as a main point of contact to receive and process requests for changes and additions to community training portfolio.
- To hold regular meetings with key community contacts in order to continuously meet the unique training needs of community health staff.
- To contribute towards community clinical competency development and review.
- To be aware of and work within or towards the standards set by agencies external to the Trust.
- Manage and contribute as required to Trust and Academy Quality Assurance processes and procedures and produce reports of the same.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of best practice and new developments within community health and social care.
- Participate in the development of departmental and Trust policies/procedures.
- Undertake audit projects and produce reports as directed by the Head of Clinical Education Practice for IC&C and/or theTraining and Development Manager.
- Contribute to the improvement and maintenance of role essential training compliance rates and supply training statistics as required.
