Band 5 Registered Dental Nurse
We are looking for an enthusiastic hardworking person to join the Oral Maxillofacial Outpatient team.
You must be an experienced registered dental nurse with at significant experience in looking after patients requiring Oral maxillofacial treatments in an outpatient environment. This role is for someone who is looking for career progression and feels ready to take on a role of a Band 5.
The successful candidate will be required to work independently undertaking radiographs for both the Oral Maxillofacial department, ENT & ED . Supporting the Conscious sedation clinics and patients requiring treatments under Local anaesthetic, GA & LA/ sedation.
Supporting Junior colleagues and mentoring of new staff / Oxford Brookes students.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to be registered with The General Dental Council. To help provide/co-ordinate the specialists nursing care of patients and contribute to the continuing development of nursing within the Oral Maxillofacial Department. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be involved in the efficient running of Oral Surgery Outpatients clinics, and Day Surgery lists within the Department

2) To ensure knowledge of and compliance with the policies and plans for Fire, Major Incident, Control of Infection and the Health and Safety at Work Act.
3) To report to the Sister/Charge Nurse, Senior Nurse or Directorate Manager, any undue occurrence that may be either witnessed or reported.
4) To be an effective practitioner with the ability to develop clinical expertise in the care of patients in the outpatient setting and to ensure that due attention is paid to the needs of relatives and friends of patients in the Department.
