Job summary

Applications are invited for this new position of Consultant Cardiologist with an interest in imaging at The Great Western Hospital, Swindon (Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust). This is a new post. The successful applicant will join the 9 other Cardiologists to deliver care to our local population. There will be no commitment to General Internal Medicine.

Main duties of the job

The purpose-built Wiltshire Cardiac Centre is a fully integrated unit. The department is progressive and forward-thinking. There is an active interest in research. The department is proud to have been re-awarded BSE accreditation in transthoracic, stress and transoesophageal echocardiography. All aspects of adult echocardiography are undertaken with state of the art equipment including 3D capability. We have an active FICE training programme. There are 2 CT scanners and 2 cardiac capable MRI scanners including a new 1.5T Magnetom Sola MRI scanner with a full cardiac package. We currently undertake in excess of 900 CT coronary angiograms per year with the use of CT FFR.

About us

Full registration with the GMC is essential. A work permit may be applied for if the successful candidate is non-UK/EU resident.
