Job summary
The role of Sector Safeguarding Lead will be part of the trust safeguarding team, working collaboratively across the trust to ensure that our statutory, regulatory, and mandatory frameworks and guidance relating to safeguarding are met. The role holder will have experience in and be a specialist for one of the following areas: children & young people, adults and education & training.You will be the subject matter expert, working to support the sector team with all aspects of safeguarding.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will work collaboratively across the safeguarding team and will work on shared workstreams across the safeguarding portfolio, along with holding responsibility for specific workstreams. The post holder will work to provide specialist support to staff, monitoring and reviewing referrals and responding to requests for information from internal/external partners.

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Clinician, eg HCPC Registered Paramedic, NMC Registered Nurse or other Registered AHP or Honors Degree or Diploma in Social Work or Clinically Qualified Social Worker (CQSW).
- Minimum of three years post registration experience demonstrating experience within a safeguarding environment, working at a master's equivalent level
Skills & Knowledge
Essential
- Ability to provide, receive and act upon highly complex information of a highly sensitive nature in relation to child protection/adults at risk issues.
- Ability to receive conflicting information relating to safeguarding and deciding on the most appropriate outcome/option.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Children Act 1989, 2004, Working Together 2013 and other relevant legislation.
- Demonstrable ability to work collaboratively with multi-agency partners and internal/external stakeholders.
Desirable
- Knowledge of governance and Caldicott Principles in relation to child protection and vulnerable adults.
Experience

- Experience in developing and delivering training materials.
- Experience of working in, and managing, highly emotive situations and overcoming barriers.
- Experience of working with at-risk children and adults.
