Job summary
The Trust is looking to appoint an individual to the position of Health, Safety & Fire Specialist.
Working closely with the Head of Health, Safety & Security and other Senior Managers The Health, Safety & Fire Specialist is responsible for leading on the Health & Safety and Fire Management plan and the day-to-day management of Department Team Members to implement and manage the legal/regulatory duties within the Trust, which involves a regime of continual auditing, monitoring, and review, so that the Trust has discharged their statutory obligations across all operational activity whilst delivering a strong Safety Culture.
Main duties of the job
- To lead the implementation of designated health and safety activities/ projects, advising on appropriate health, safety & fire strategies and actions.
- To ensure that the Trusts health, safety & fire practices are developed in order that the highest standards are achieved.
- To manage safety and fire inspections of premises across the Trust and ensure are carried out in line with the annual plan.
- To produce reports on fire management including information on fire risk assessments. Incorporating action planning and monitoring.
- To provide training, advice and are support on all aspects of Health & Safety and Fire management issues and legislative implications to groups of staff dependent on their role, including large groups and individual focused support.
- To be responsible for the day-to-day management of staff within the Health, Safety & Security Team including appointments, sickness management and appraisal.
