Job summary

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Emergency Operations Centre (EOC). The Quality and Governance Manager will be responsible for providing specialised advice and support to the EOC Quality and Improvement Manager and wider EOC Team, in managing, measuring, and demonstrating compliance with CQC requirements, IPC, statutory and mandatory compliance, assurance and reporting. In addition, the post holder will be responsible for monitoring and managing EOC Risk Register.

Oversight and supporting all EOC Improvement Projects, including OPIP and QCIP.

This is a key role reporting to the EOC Quality and Improvement Manager and supporting onward reporting to the Executive and Trust Board.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will hold accountability for the management and coordination of the EOCs self- assessments and associated evidence portfolio, working at all levels across the EOC and Organisation, ensuring that the EOC can demonstrate, evidence, and respond, to any CQC reporting requirements, including those related to any inspection processes.

The post holder will have highly developed specialist knowledge and expertise in regulatory requirements, developing a quality and safety culture through knowledge of improvement methodology and change management, have a proactive 'can do' approach, be highly motivated and confident in managing challenging and changing workloads, demonstrating political astuteness.

About us

EEAST employs over 5,000 staff with a further 1,000+ volunteers who between them cover 7,500 square miles and care for a population of more than 6 million.

Our three control rooms in Bedfordshire, Norfolk and Essex handle more than 1 million 999 calls every year, over 2,500 calls a day.

We manage a fleet of over 1,000 vehicles including double staffed ambulances, rapid response cars, operational commander response vehicles, patient transport and support service vehicles.

The East of England works alongside 17 Acute Trusts with Accident & Emergency services and a Major Trauma Centre in Cambridge. Access is available to neighbouring MTCs such as those in London.

  • Educated to Master's Level in a relevant topic or equivalent knowledge and experience of managing Governance in a complex Organisation.
  • Project Management Qualification or significant experience.

Desirable

  • Recognised Management Qualification such as NHS Leadership Mary Seacole.
  • Clinical Qualification

Knowledge and Experience

  • Knowledge of the CQC 5 Standards and the CQC core service framework requirements and expectations.
  • Experience of communicating with external stakeholders in a sometime challenging arena.
