The post holder will be responsible for managing the day to day running of the Scheduling Department, ensuring the most cost effective and efficient use of resources to meet demand, in line with Trust policies. The post holder will also lead and manage the Scheduling Coordinators.
HYBRID WORKING - required to work ONSITE and REMOTELY.
We are recruiting to 2 posts. For one of the posts, ONSITE working when required will be at one of the Trust's EOCs (Emergency Operations Centre) - Bedford, Chelmsford or Norwich.
For the 2nd post, ONSITE working when required will be at any of the Trust sites within the Suffolk and North East Essex (SNEE) locality, with occasional travel to other sites within the SNEE locality.
Please note that the Scheduling department's hours of operation is between 0600 and 2200, therefore successful post holders appointed will be required to undertake evening and weekend working on a shift rota or set days basis. Main duties of the job
To manage the day to day running of the Scheduling Department, ensuring the most cost effective and efficient use of resources to meet demand, in line with Trust policies.
Lead and manage the Scheduling Coordinators.
Ensure the accurate and consistent use of the Workforce Management System to enable the Department to meet its goals and objectives.
Data entry, analysis and information extraction, to present to key managers within the organisation.
Provision of expert guidance, assistance and support to managers and staff in all matters relating to resource planning and scheduling.

- Educated to Level 5 in a relevant subject, or equivalent experience.
- Level 5 Certificate in Management Qualification, or demonstrable level of First Line Management experience.
Desirable
- European Computer Driving Licence, or demonstrable working knowledge of using the full range of Microsoft Office applications.
- Professional Planning Qualification.
- Project, or Change, Qualifications, eg PRINCE2, Six Sigma.
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Extensive experience of working in a Planning or Scheduling environment.
- Knowledge of Freedom of Information and Data Protection Acts, and Working Time Directive.
Desirable
- Previous experience of implementing and managing policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Previous NHS experience.
- Working knowledge of Agenda for Change and ESR.
- Previous leadership and supervisory experience in a remote environment.
