Job summary
The initial 6-month pathway will be under a training contract, on an Annex 21 training salary: £35,754 (75% of the top of band 7). However, internal applicants currently at the top of band 6, will remain on their current salary.
Upon the successful completion of all qualifications (within 6 months from the start date), the post holder will transition into a substantive qualified Driver Trainer role at the bottom of Band 7. All requirements for the role are detailed in the attached job description.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be in a development role, following a development pathway over a 6 month programme. The programme will progress the post holder into a Qualified band 7 Driver Trainer. The post holder will be supported to achieve the following qualifications over the 6 month pathway, following a robust programme with achievable milestones:
Level 3 CERAD (Certificate in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving)
Level 3 CAVA (Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement)
Level 4 CET (Certificate in Education and Training)
Level 4 DERADI (Diploma in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving Instruction)
ADI (Approved Driving Instructor)
This post holder will be supported throughout the programme and will receive supervision. The programme will end with 4 weeks of mentoring with a Qualified Driver Trainer followed by an 8 week period of consolidation.
