Job summary
The post holder will be a highly skilled and experienced Data Protection Officer (DPO).
As a DPO you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with Data Protection Laws and Regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the UK Data Protection Act 2018.
You will be responsible for advising and supporting The Trust Board, Directorates and Staff, on all matters relating to Data Protection, privacy, and security.
This will be an independent role and will ensure the Trust comply with having a DPO in post as per legislation.
Main duties of the job
Data Protection Compliance
- Monitoring and advising on the Trust's compliance with Data Protection Laws, Regulations, NHS Best Practices and Trust's Internal Policies.
- Monitor and advise in the development of Data Protection Policies, Procedures and Guidelines, in line with legal requirements.
- Oversee Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) to assess that they are appropriate, meet the standards required by Legislation and mitigate risks associated with Data Processing Activities.
- Act as the point of contact for data subjects and Supervisory Authorities such as the Information Commissioners Office, handling Data Subject Enquiries, Complaints, and monitoring Data Subject Rights Requests.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to Internal Teams regarding Data Protection and privacy matters.
