Job summary
In our aim to create an inclusive, accessible working environment, we have developed a new role for someone who will be the first point of contact for the Trust-wide reasonable adjustment process within East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST), ensuring staff members' adjustments are implemented in a timely manner.
This role will suit an individual with strong understanding of the disability agenda and extensive knowledge of the disability elements of the Equality Act 2010.
Experience of delivering advise and support in relation to the needs of people with disabilities and long-term health conditions is important to this role.
The successful candidate will have strong stakeholder engagement skills and be able to work collaboratively to achieve outcomes as well as the ability to effectively engage and advise a varied audience.

Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for:
- providing guidance and support to line managers in adjusting working practices and the work environment.
- supporting and advising employees and managers on ways to provide reasonable adjustments.
You will work alongside HR, Occupational Health Service, ICT, and procurement services within the Trust and liaise with Access to Work and other procurement providers for staff members.
Your duties will include:
- Producing suitable and timely interventions to eliminate barriers for staff with disabilities.
- Working in partnership with the Redeployment Adviser, HR Business Partners, and the EDI team, to support managers and staff across the organisation.
- Being the subject matter specialist for Access to Work and the Equality Act 2010 - particularly the disability-related sections.
- Provide support across the Trust on the delivery of disability-related projects.
- Deliver education and training programmes to enhance understanding and raise awareness.
- Promoting awareness and understanding of disability-related issues within the organisation, ensuring line managers are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to implement reasonable adjustments effectively.
- Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, managers, and relevant stakeholders to assist in the smooth implementation and ongoing support of reasonable adjustments.
