Clinical Associate in Psychology

Job summary

We have a post available for a qualified Clinical Associate in Psychology (CAP) to join our CMHT for adults with mental health difficulties.

You will work closely with the existing psychology team (including 3 clinical psychologists, another CAP, and an assistant psychologist) as well as the wider multidisciplinary team.

The post covers the geographical area of West Suffolk, based in Newmarket and covering the parts of Bury St Edmunds, Thetford and surrounding areas

If you have completed your CAP training with an adult populations and enjoy working with complexity and delivering psychologically informed individual and group interventions, we would love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

As a Clinical Associate Psychologist, your duties could include:

Undertaking appropriate clinical work under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist, including the provision of psychological assessment, formulation, individual and group interventions.

Active participation in multidisciplinary team meetings, case discussion and formulation meetings.

Involvement in development of policies and project work in collaboration with appropriate team colleagues, including the development of our current psychologically informed service offers.

Data gathering for audit and research purposes link.

Training and consultation.

The successful applicant will join our professional and friendly multidisciplinary team, where psychological interventions and consultation are highly valued.

The team consists of nurses, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, occupational therapists, peer support workers, assistant practitioners, support workers and administration colleagues. Staff in training, including trainee clinical psychologists, are hosted on placements.

The post holder will need to be confident in completing assessments, running groups and delivering mental health interventions in person. They will also be required to support and work collaboratively with our colleagues within the CMHT along with and the other organisations and allied teams in our Locality.
