Assistant Practitioner

Job summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Assistant Practitioner to join our Dementia Treatment Team at the Sophie Centre, Julian Hospital, Norwich. In this role, you will help to provide non-pharmacological treatments to people who have been diagnosed with dementia. This will involve assessing individuals' suitability of different treatments, delivering treatments such as Cognitive Stimulation Therapy and reviewing patients during and after treatments to understand the efficacy of each patient's treatment and experience.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the assessment, planning, and delivery of Non-Pharmacological treatments to people living with dementia.
  • Work collaboratively with nurses, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals
  • Provide emotional support and practical assistance to service users and their families
  • Contribute to the overall wellbeing of individuals living with dementia.

Requirements:

  • Experience in mental health or elderly care is desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Relevant health or social care, foundation degree qualification required
