Norfolk & Suffolk Foundation NHS Trust

CBT Clinical Supervisor - Step 3

The closing date is 02 September 2025

Job summary

A fixed term (until end January 2026) opportunity has arisen for a CBT Therapist with extensive experience of delivering CBT to join our team of experienced Clinical Supervisors. We are an NHS Talking Therapies for Anxiety & Depression service based across Norfolk and Waveney providing high volume, evidence-based psychosocial treatments for people aged 16+ with common mental health problems of anxiety and low mood. We deliver a bio-psycho-social model which includes psychological, employment and social interventions, with our partner Norfolk and Waveney Mind.

You will be part of an established NHS Talking Therapies service that is benchmarked nationally as a service with excellent outcomes for our communities. You will work alongside PWPs, MHPs, Counsellors, Employment Advisors and our newly developed Access & Inclusion Team.

The Clinical Supervisors are an integral part of clinical learning and development using NHS Talking Therapies best practice and NICE Guidelines.

You will receive regular supervision of supervision and support from our Senior Leadership Team, as well as well as having access to high quality CPD. With firsthand knowledge of what our therapists need to deliver their role, you will help develop innovative, positive clinical change, and to help the service continue to achieve excellent client care.

We are committed to implementing service changes using Quality Improvement (QI) and supporting all staff to be part of these initiatives.

Main duties of the job

In addition to providing clinical supervision to Step 3 CBT clinicians, you will ensure supervisees work safely and effectively, adhering to NICE guidelines and professional/service guidance and Trust values. Working closely with the Clinical Team Leaders to support staff, you will support clinicians' clinical development. The Clinical Supervisors are active in planning and delivering CPD across both steps.

You will hold a small caseload of clients, providing assessment and treatment for people presenting with common mental health problems.

Our treatments are delivered face to face, online via video platforms, and by telephone. Currently our supervisors work across all of Norfolk & Waveney, largely delivering supervision via Microsoft Teams, but as we move towards a place-based model, we expect the supervisors to be based in a community hub for part of their week, combining this with online delivery as required. This role will be based in North Norfolk. The Hub for this locality is North Walsham.

You will be required to support with interface between the service and wider trust teams and external providers.

The service is commissioned to deliver from 8:00am - 8:00pm Monday to Friday and 8:00am - 2:00pm on Saturdays. You will be expected to work within these hours across the week. Currently our Saturday service is delivered by external partners, however this is under review.

About us

Our Service vision for Norfolk and Waveney is to improve the lives of the 210,000 people who suffer with anxiety and depression, promoting sustained recovery and wellbeing in line with Talking Therapies Manual and our Trust Values.

Together with partners we will reduce the differentials in access, treatment and outcomes from Talking Therapies that those who experience inequalities face in our communities.

Our approach brings together VCSE and statutory organisations at System, Place and community levels, aligning physical health and mental health pathways with networks of social and community support.

The service is commissioned to deliver from 8:00am - 8:00pm Monday to Friday and 8:00am - 2:00pm on Saturdays. You will be expected to work within these hours across the week. Currently our Saturday service is delivered by external partners, however this is under review.

You will join a service that supports everyone in their roles and in line with Trust values.

Location: To be discussed at interview, this will primarily be in North Norfolk.
