Job summary
We are delighted to be recruiting a Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner to join our Child and adolescent Eating Disorders Intensive Treatment Team (EDITT). The role is offered on a full time-time basis (37.5 hours per week) on a 6-month fixed term basis to cover maternity leave. The role may include some weekend virtual working. This is exciting opportunity to be part of a service which is regionally leading the way in Eating Disorders day treatment and is expanding their day and virtual intensive offer.
You will undertake the delivery of direct care to patients and work in the capacity of a key nurse to agreed quality standards.
Main duties of the job
You will work as a member of the multidisciplinary team which is responsible for delivering high quality care to young people and their families.This will predominantly be clinic based, covering the day and virtual intensive programme but interventions in the community or on acute wards may occasionally be required.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate Trust values in delivering care to others.We are looking for a range of qualities including dedication, focus and compassion, empathy and is sensitive in their approach to people who may be distressed or come across in a challenging manner.
Youwill be expected to provide NICE concordant treatment to young people with a diagnosis of an eating disorder, often with co-morbidities, neurodiverse presentations and complex needs. In collaboration with the team and parents/carers you will deliver a structured treatment plan that offers a range of therapeutic approaches appropriate to clinical need.You will offer emotional and practical support to young people during and around mealtimes, provide support for parents at different times including during family meals, and promote the dignity and esteem of patients at all times.You will need to be motivational, enthusiastic and flexible within this role working well with young people, their parent/cares and the rest of the team.
