Job summary

With the National conversation increasingly focused on young people's mental health this is the time to be at the forefront of the development of these services. We are excited to be recruiting a Clinical Team Manager to work in our innovative service in Suffolk: the Mental Health Support Team (MHST). MHSTs are based within schools, ensuring children and young people receive faster access to earlier mental health support. You will provide operational management and leadership to the team. You will work closely with the other team managers, the Clinical Lead and Psychological Therapist in the team to support the clinical delivery of the service.

This role will be based with established teams based in Woodbridge and Leiston.

We encourage applicants from varied backgrounds, including; nursing, social work, occupational therapy.

This role is an 18-month fixed term contract but we would be willing to consider secondment requests. Interviews are anticipated to take place week commencing the 21st April.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will be responsible for the operational management of the service to ensure a high-quality service is provided to children and young people (and their families) experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. You will build relationships with and work across a range of education settings. There is a strong emphasis on co-production in MHSTs and you will help to drive this forward. You will contribute to the review, development and implementation of service wide policies and protocols.

You will be responsible for the management supervision of the team. You will contribute and lead MDT decisions and be responsible for managing the clinical capacity of the team, taking account of balancing direct individual/family work with whole school/college approaches to supporting emotional wellbeing. You will be accessible for staff, service users, families and carers and act as a point of clinical expertise.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Mental Health Nursing degree or equivalent, Dip/ Degree SW with mental health speciality or Dip/ Degree OT with mental health speciality or equivalent, or HCPC registered

Experience

Essential

  • Able to demonstrate experience at a senior clinical level including staff management/supervision experience.

Desirable

  • Evidence of providing leadership in a Mental Health care environment including service development.
  • Further specialist knowledge of health promotion and recovery within an early intervention context
