An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Senior Clinical Administrator to join the Memory Assessment and Therapy Service based in Bury St Edmunds.
Efficient time management and good planning is crucial to this role to allow the best quality of service for our patients and clinicians.
The Memory Assessment Service West is nurse-led with a strong emphasis on multi-disciplinary team working to ensure that users of the service receive high quality, compassionate care throughout their memory assessment process. The team is comprised of a Psychiatric Consultant, Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Associate Psychologist, Occupational Therapists, Non-medical prescribers, nurses and clinical support workers, and excellent admin support.

The team is embracing the opportunity to be part of a Suffolk-wide Memory Assessment Service offer wherein services in both East and West Suffolk are aligned and accredited to the same standard of quality of care. Main duties of the job
As part of this role you will provide support for theClinical Team Leader, nursing staff and Medics whilst overseeing that the daily administrative procedures run smoothly, and data is kept up to date in an accurate and timely manner.
You will need to have an understanding of the importance of HR procedures and will have supervisory responsibility for a small number of the admin in the team.
Preferably, you should have experience of patient software system - SystmOne, support will be given. It is essential to have good typing skills and a good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Knowledge or experience of NHS working would be desirable. Applicants must have the ability to work to tight deadlines, to demonstrate clear and effective communication skills, and apply attention to detail whilst maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

- Provide secretarial / administrative support to the clinical team, ensure the workload is prioritised to ensure patient safety and meet quality standards.
- Tasks from the CTL this includes, HR form changes, updating the electronic system ESR, room bookings and cancellations, any ad hoc tasks, away day attendance/preparation, note taking.
- Taking minutes for meetings and attending meetings as required
- Note taking for investigations, organising and sending letters and reports
- Typing up letters and reports for Medics, including audio typing
- Supporting and engaging with HR procedures,
- Keeping personnel files up to date
- Line Management to provide supervision, support appraisals and training to a number of identified (lower banded) admin staff.
- Deal effectively with patient referrals liaising directly with General Practitioners, clinical and medical staff from other areas, service users and their relatives.
- Manage and re-arrange team appointment systems and diaries.
- Complete audits as required
- New starters - provide support and access to IT systems
