Job summary

The Professional Lead for Staff Development is a senior post and a key member of the Training and Education Department providing both strategic and operational focus across education, training and development opportunities for staff CPD and skills development.

Provides strategic oversight, support and line management to key members of training and development team. The role will work in close partnership with colleagues across the Trust to optimise staff CPD experience and ensure that all localities are provided with high-levels of placement support.

The post-holder will be expected to work in close partnership with senior colleagues to maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Working within the trust's training and development department and alongside subject matter experts this role will shape and guide the future of our training and development provision to ensure it meets national guidance and supports in delivery of patient safety and care

Overall leadership for new and existing induction / development Programmes, and other learning programmes on offer from the Trust. They will be central in the design and evaluation of the Induction / training programmes and opportunities responding to identified Trust needs, in consultation with the Head of Training and Development.

Main duties of the job

To provide direction, leadership, design and oversight for staff development programs developing skills across the organisation, guided by national regulatory frameworks and service needs.

Assist promote the recovery agenda and service user and carer involvement in the development and delivery of education, training, development, responding positively to comment, suggestion or complaint.

Ensure that all development programmes are compliant with equality and diversity requirements and with any relevant national regulatory frameworks.

Key member of trust and department strategic and operational groups providing trust wide oversight and consistency in projects, programs and training requirements taking lead in training projects or programs of work.

Assist and participate in education development, training and redesign and ensure that education, training and development reflects current, short and long term future service changes.

Assist the Head of Training and Development to manage the delivery of staff development in the most cost-effective way balancing patient safety needs, regulatory and legislative requirements, career development needs and professional requirements to provide long term plans for individual performance and service improvement.
