Job summary

My name's Keir Brisbane and I am the new Service Manager for the Youth Service.

In our service we support young people (aged 14-25 years) who are experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties. We have enthusiastic and skilled staff who provide the support that is needed - and they are motivated to make a real difference to young people, their families and carers.

As an employer, I and Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust are particularly committed to enabling our staff to do the very best they can through support and training, as well as opportunities for progression. We are confident, therefore, that the right candidate will have a real chance to make a positive impact to the lives of young people in Norfolk.

As a service we are striving to meet the challenges that we are facing, and to create a working environment that is sustainable, effective for our young people, and fulfilling for our staff.

We're really excited to offer a fixed-term contract or secondment opportunity (18mths) for a Clinical Team Leader to support the improvement work in our North and South Teams. This is an ideal role for somebody inspired to make a difference within a service; supporting their colleagues' growth and development, and a vocation for working with young people.

Main duties of the job

The role of the Clinical Team Leader within our Youth Service will be to provide direction and oversight to the team during a time of change and improvement; the work particularly relates to reducing waiting times, developing confidence in practice, and driving wellbeing and resilience forward within the teams.

If appointed, you will:

Provide high-quality line-management supervision to clinicians within the team.

Lead and contribute to multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings; promoting reflection and safe decision-making.

Lead and contribute to improvement projects and plans; maintaining oversight of progress and thinking creatively to identify solutions to challenges.

Provide skilled clinical assessments and interventions as needed.

Work alongside the substantive Community Team Managers (CTM's) to build positive relationships and move change forward.

We'd be interested to hear from experienced leaders, or those aspiring towards leadership - the important thing is that you are inspired by the possibilities of this role.

About us

Here at NSFT we pride ourselves on being a welcoming, talented, friendly and supportive team who like nothing better than sharing experiences and learning from each other. In addition to ongoing training and development opportunities, we are committed to providing an environment in which you can thrive.

Why work for us? We have challenges as a Trust, but we have ambitious aspirations, are pushing ahead with exciting transformation work and we need dedicated individuals to support us on our journey. We have strong, established nursing networks coupled with an exceptional leadership team who will ensure you are truly cared for and cared about.

Why Norfolk and Suffolk? The people here are warm and welcoming, you'll never be far from the beautiful coastline or Broads National Park. We're an hour and a half away from London and have an international airport in Norwich too. Our villages, towns and cities are packed full of history, independent cafes, shops and theatres. We have excellent shopping, eating out, top ranking schooling and affordable house prices too.
