Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a permanent .5 WTE (18.75 hours per week) 8a clinical psychologist, counselling psychologist, or psychotherapist within the adult community service in South Norfolk. We are willing to consider applications from newly qualified psychologists within the preceptorship period which would mean appointing at Band 7. There would be scope to move to band 8a on completion of preceptorship.
You will join a supportive and proactive team of psychological practitioners, with a range of specialist interests, including complex trauma, complex emotional needs, bipolar, psychosis, and dissociation. The team currently has specialist skills in and delivers a range of psychological therapies to meet the needs of the population we serve, including CAT, EMDR, MBT, DBT, CFT, ACT and CBT.

Main duties of the job
The psychology team is embedded within the community mental health team and offers assessment, formulation, consultation and evidence-based group and individual interventions, as well as supervision and training to enhance the psychological perspective and skills of the multi-disciplinary team. The south adult community team is actively developing psychological provision for those with complex emotional needs in line with community transformation. As a service we are always looking to diversify the range of evidence-based therapies we provide and welcome applicants who can extend the models we currently offer.We appreciate the added value this offers the service by raising standards and improving quality.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about mental health, with a range of clinical skills and interests ideally including experience of working with complex emotional needs and trauma, which may complement or enhance those already provided by the psychology team. You will also be able to work well within an MDT setting and actively embrace and support a Recovery culture through co-production opportunities.
You will be professionally supported by regular supervision, CPD opportunities, and links with relevant networks of colleagues across the Trust area of Norfolk and Suffolk, notably regarding CAT, EMDR, and MBT. We have good links with the University of East Anglia, including providing clinical and counselling psychology training placements.
