Carpenter/Joiner (Building Craftsperson)

Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT) are looking for a skilled Carpenter/Joiner to join our existing multi-disciplinary professional maintenance team in providing a safe environment for all service users, staff and visitors across our Norfolk sites being based at Hellesdon Hospital in Norwich.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate would be flexible, enthusiastic, self-motivated and confident in being part of a team that provides a comprehensive maintenance service in a unique and varied environment.

Duties & Responsibilities Associated with this role:

  • To provide a comprehensive service to include all aspects of planned and routine maintenance
  • To repair and maintain a wide range of building components on site
  • You will be required to participate in the On-Call Rota vacancy permitting
  • Ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with the requirements of Health and Safety and other relevant legislation
  • Fault finding and diagnosis
  • Routine inspections to ensure our estate is safe and fully compliant

Essential

  • CITB minimum 3 year apprenticeship in Carpentry/Joinery AND C&G Certificate in Carpentry/Joinery OR Carpentry/Joinery Benchwork NVQ 3
  • Full UK driving licence for ability to drive Trust vehicles

Desirable

  • City & Guilds Advanced Craft Certificate in Carpentry/Joinery
  • BTEC, ONC in Building or equivalent
  • Safety in the Use of Woodworking Machinery

Experience

Essential

  • Two years experience having demonstrated high technical verstility and flexability

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a mental health & secure services environment
