Band 6 Clinical Pharmacist (Mental Health)

Are you a newly qualified Pharmacist or Foundation Trainee Pharmacist? Are you looking for experience in mental health pharmacy service? We have some great opportunities.

Due to significant investment in our Pharmacy team and the creation of a range of exciting new opportunities, we are now looking to recruit highly motivated and compassionate Pharmacists or Foundation Trainee Pharmacists to join our friendly Pharmacy teams across the trust. This is an exciting time at NSFT. Join us as we transform our Clinical Pharmacy services.

We have vacancies in the Great Yarmouth and Secure Services Clinical Team based at the Julian Hospital and Northside House in Norwich and Northgate Hospital in Great Yarmouth.

Main duties of the job

  • To work as part of a clinical pharmacy team to deliver safe and effective medicines management and medicine optimisation.
  • To work as part of the ward based multidisciplinary team with opportunities to gain experience across a range of mental health inpatient environments.
  • To participate in the ongoing development of pharmacy services and policy, with an emphasis on building direct patient care.
  • To complete postgraduate training in general pharmacy practice and/or mental health to support professional development and to build on clinical competencies.

Your main role will be to work with the multidisciplinary team to provide a clinical pharmacy service to the in-patient wards. There may also be opportunities to work with the Crisis teams and our mother and baby unit.

From Autumn 2022, HEE supports the training of all eligible mental health pharmacists in Independent Prescribing, making this an ideal time to join us if you have an interest in developing mental health as your area of prescribing practice. Our pharmacists with postgraduate mental health and prescribing qualifications have gone on to new and exciting roles within NSFT which continue to develop as our pharmacy service expands.
