Job summary

Hi, my name is Keir and I am the Service Manager For the Youth Service. We are looking for a qualified and experienced clinical psychologist to join us in offering clinical leadership and therapeutic provision for 14-25 year olds across Great Yarmouth and Waveney.

The Youth service is on an exciting journey as we work to develop and improved clinical pathways across the Norfolk and Waveney area.This post is in a multidisciplinary, dynamic team and the successful applicant will take a key leadership role along with other members of the leadership team (Clinical Nurse Specialist, Consultant Psychiatrist, and Community Team Manager), in the day to day organisation of the team, as well as working closely with the three other Principal Clinical/Counselling Psychologists across the service in developing the overall delivery of Youth mental health services in Norfolk.This is a substantive post and is offered on a part time (0.8WTE) basis

Main duties of the job

The primary need of the role is to offer clinical leadership across the Great Yarmouth and Waveney Youth team alongside holding complex therapeutic cases and providing clinical oversight and support to other members of the team. This will include direct supervision of a range of clinicians and overall responsibility for the clinical quality of the service alongside the Consultant Clinical Psychologist.You will be experienced in working with complex therapeutic presentations and use of therapeutic interventions such as CBT, MBT, DBT or EMDR would be of benefit. . You will be a dynamic and creative individual who enjoys organising their own time and leading on service-related projects. You will value supervision, both group and individual, and recognise the importance of teamwork and close partnership working.

Essential

  • Post graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology, or it's equivalent, including eligibility for chartered status with the BPS
  • Further post-qualification, post- graduate training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice
  • Registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health Care professions Council (HCPC)

Desirable

  • Evidence of CPD in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice

Experience

Essential

  • Specialist complex psychological assessment and treatment of people with a wide range of mental health problems, of varying severity and complexity
  • Relevant experience in service area
  • Application of psychology in different cultural contexts
  • Extensive experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist and evidence of specialist knowledge gained through practice and ongoing training
  • Experience of working in a wide variety of client groups and presenting problems including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems
  • Teaching, training and delivering clinical supervision

  • Representing psychology within MDT setting(clinical and organisational contexts).
  • Experience of clinical work in a setting relevant to the post.
