Poppy ward are seeking a Band 5 Nurse to be part of this fantastic team.

We work hard to make sure we provide quality, evidence-based and collaborative care in all of the areas we cover. This role will include interaction and communication with a wide scope of people including service users, health and social care staff, medical and carers.

At Woodlands, we have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Nurse to join our Poppy Ward team. Poppy Ward has eighteen beds for male patients with a diagnosis of functional mental ill health who require a specialist level of assessment, care and treatment. We have a skilled, diverse and welcoming team of staff on the ward, and work with more such people across the onsite multidisciplinary teams.

Main duties of the job

You will be working within an inpatient service with a focus on a recovery approach. You will have the opportunity to lead and direct the structure and focus of the ward routine for service users and staff and contribute to service developments bridging inpatient and community services.

As a Band 5 Nurse on Poppy you will have the opportunity to develop both clinical and leadership skills in an exciting and dynamic environment.

As part of our ongoing strive for excellence we are developing a 'care team' approach to patient centred care.We're looking for a hands on, flexible nurse who is skilled at developing therapeutic relationships. You would be involved in the planning and delivering of interventions to support goal-based recovery plans.

It can be a challenging environment at times, so we need clinicians with a positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and a hands-on approach. It is vital that the clinician is reflective around issues of power and difference, see the importance of working across systems, and can do that effectively.

If you have the drive to provide excellent care, can demonstrate high quality clinical skills and are willing to go the extra mile to help make a difference to people's lives then we would love to hear from you.

The role is shift working, we do Long day and night shifts and will be expected to be on a rota to accommodate a ward that is open 24/7 and there will a mixture of days and nights.
