Job summary

This role will be supported by a £12,000 relocation allowance.

Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust provides a range of mental health and learning disability services across Norfolk and Suffolk. It has inpatient facilities across both counties and smaller bases in rural locations. Many of the Trust's services are offered in the community, enabling service users to receive the support they need in an environment familiar to them. The Trust is actively engaged with the local system focused on implementing the vision of the NHS long term plan and the development of the Primary Care Networks, enhancing the current crisis pathways and looking at opportunities to work collaboratively.

Main duties of the job

The Trust is seeking a consultant psychiatrist to join the Learning Disability Specialist Pathway. The vacancy has arisen as the result of the merging of the new specialist pathway, and the Trust regards this as an opportune moment to develop the functioning of the team. The service covers the eastern side of the county. The post holder will carry responsibility for outpatient and inpatients for the service users who live in the west of the county.

The West community team has a current caseload of 150 in a population of 237,031 and the East team has a caseload of 310 in a population of 387,924. The teams share an average of 2-3 new referrals per week.
