We're looking for aspiring leaders and clinically credible nurses to join our dedicated team on Northgate Ward, based at Wedgwood House (West Suffolk Hospital) as Charge Nurse.
This role will be a great opportunity for you to demonstrate leadership amongst a small group of individuals. As charge nurse, you will be expected to take responsibility for supporting your care team, working within governance processes to support the implementation of individualised and responsive care.
Northgate Ward is an adult inpatient ward that accommodates both men and women over the age of 18. We provide treatment and care for people with acute mental illnesses such as; depression, anxiety and personality disorder.
Wedgwood House is a welcoming, purpose-built mental health unit comprising of 2 acute mental health inpatient wards, an older person's inpatient ward, as well as crisis, home treatment and psychiatric liaison services.

Main duties of the job
As part of our ongoing strive for excellence we are developing a 'care team' approach patient centred care.We're looking for a hands on, flexible charge nurse who will confidently make decisions and support their small care team.
We will look to support you to develop your skills in a variety of ways; whether that is through our existing band 6 development programme, leadership courses, mentorship as well as formal recognised qualifications too.
If you have the drive to provide excellent care, can demonstrate high quality clinical skills and are willing to go the extra mile to help make a difference to people's lives then we would love to hear from you.
