Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Clinical Psychologist to join Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust and become the Clinical Service Lead for Wellbeing (IAPT) Services across Norfolk and Suffolk on a fixed term 18 month contract.

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is the lead provider for both Wellbeing Suffolk (commissioned by Suffolk and North East Essex (SNEE) ICB) and Wellbeing Norfolk and Waveney . Both Wellbeing services incorporate the delivery of the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) services for the counties of Norfolk and Suffolk as well as an extended community and social offer to ensure a holistic approach to recovery.

We are looking for an inspirational leader who has experience of working in an IAPT leadership position. The role involves overall operational and clinical leadership of both Wellbeing (IAPT) services in the two ICS systems.

You will be supported both clinically and operationally by a Service Manager and Deputy Clinical Lead in both Norfolk and Suffolk. Relationships with external partners include Service Users and Carers, ICS partners, Regulators, HEE, NHSE and other providers working within the Suffolk and North East Essex (SNEE) ICS & Norfolk and Waveney system.

This role will be fast paced and challenging, requiring the ability to be able to work under pressure across a large geographical area. You will be able to establish credibility with a wide range of individuals, and must possess excellent communication, leadership, and management skills, together with the vision and drive to ensure your success.   • Registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist
  • Training in clinical psychology at post- graduate doctoral level, as accredited by the BPS (British Psychological Society)

Desirable

  • Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice
  • Management / leadership training

Skills

Essential

  • Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management.
  • A high level ability to communicate complex information effectively
  • Leadership - the ability to lead people through service change
  • An interest in models of service delivery and an ability to articulate the value added by clinical psychology services
  • Ability to contain and work with organisational stress and ability to 'hold' the stress of others

Desirable

  • Knowledge and skills to carry out complex multivariate statistical analyses, create and manipulate databases, produce presentational materials and scientific papers and books at publications standard, posters and power point presentations
