At Julian Hospital, we have an exciting opportunity for Band 6 Nurses to join our newly re-furbished Blickling Ward. Blickling Ward has 19 beds for patients with a diagnosis of functional mental ill health acute who require a specialist level of assessment, care and treatment. We have a skilled team of professionals that includes: nurses, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, activity co-ordinators, physiotherapists and psychologists, supported by administration staff.
As part of our ongoing strive for excellence, we are developing a 'care team' approach to patient centred care. The Charge Nurse will be expected to take responsibility for supporting that care team, working within governance processes to support the implementation of individualised and responsive care.This is a really exciting opportunity to be able to demonstrate leadership amongst a small group of individuals.
Main duties of the job
As Charge Nurse you will be responsible for supporting your team and we want you to bring ideas and innovation with you. You may already be working at this level or this might be your first step up into management and have lots of ideas on how we can keep improving the care we deliver.
There will be opportunities for people who want to focus on the clinical aspects of the role as well as those thinking about the management side of things providing line management supervision to help staff grow and develop, we will train you in using the e-roster, NHS Professionals and you will assist in completing audits to ensure high standards of care.
We will look to support you to develop your skills in a variety of ways, be that through our existing Band 6 development programme, leadership courses, mentorship, involvement in quality improvement projects as well as more formal qualifications. If you have the drive to provide excellent care, can demonstrate high quality clinical skills and are willing to go the extra mile to help make a difference to people's lives then we would love to hear from you.
