Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified librarian to join our small and friendly library team based at Hellesdon Hospital in Norwich.

Working with other members of the library team you will be responsible for the delivery of outreach services and user education sessions to support evidence-based practice and the professional development needs of NHS staff and students based in community and mental health settings across Norfolk and Suffolk.

Main duties of the job

The role requires a proactive librarian to provide professional assistance with the provision of services in support of clinical effectiveness, quality improvement, research, education, and personal development.

The post-holder will proactively liaise with the Education and Development Department, clinical teams, and specialities to ascertain the information needs of NHS staff and students on placement and to embed library and information services into organisational work streams.

Focussing on the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub, the post holder will plan, promote, deliver, and evaluate user education sessions. A key element of the role is to raise awareness of the range of library services and resources through formal inductions, outreach, and promotional activities.

The post holder will provide professional assistance and support to the library assistant.
