The CFYP U18's Wellbeing Service are looking to recruit trainee Child and Young Person Wellbeing Practitioner's to continue to improve children and young people's mental health services in Suffolk. The training forms part of the service transformation initiative delivered by NHS England as part of the Children and Young People's Mental Health (CYP-MH) programme.
The Under 18 Wellbeing Service is part of the national accredited IAPT initiative. The aim of this is to increase mental health access to those living in Suffolk under the age of 18 who are experiencing mild to moderate levels of anxiety and depression. The service works in within the Children's Families and Young Person's care group of NSFT, providing low and high intensity mental health care to the local population.
The CWP Role predominantly involves assessment and subsequent delivery of manualised low intensity, high volume short term psychological interventions based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Much of the work delivered is around anxiety and low mood.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking to recruit 3 graduate level practitioners to provide guided self-help therapy and parenting interventions. These posts are salaried at NHS Agenda for Change band 4 and fully funded for a one year post graduate diploma in Child Wellbeing Practice through Kings CollegeLondon. Further intensive supervision and on the job training will be provided by an experienced supervisor within each team.During training, the post-holders will work under close supervision to gain experience across healthcare and community settings to enable them to gain the level of competence required to deliver high-quality, evidence-based early interventions for children and young people experiencingmild to moderate mental health problems.

About us
This is a trainee position and post holder will undertake training at Kings College London alongside working in the U18's Wellbeing Service. They will be taught to deliver evidence based guided self-help interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental healthdifficulties. The post holder will use their newly developed skills to support children and young people who are referred into the service and trainees will receive supervision to support their professional development.Applicants will need to be ready to start work in early/mid-January 2024 and posts cannot be offered to candidates unless they can guarantee this start date.
