Job summary
Assistant Psychologist - Fixed Term Contract for 12 months
We are looking for an Assistant Psychologist to help provide a specialist community psychology service for adults with a intellectual disabilities. The post is based within a Community Learning Disabilities Team, and will be primarily based in Lowestoft, but may include travel around North Suffolk. A driving licence is essential. You will be supervised and supported by a qualified psychologist, and will have regular opportunities for liaison with other colleagues.
Main duties of the job
You will assist in psychological assessment and treatment and will be involved in the design and implementation of a range of interventions with service users, families, carers and professionals. Training will be given as required, according to experience. This is a 12 month fixed term opportunity to work within a highly experienced multi-disciplinary NHS team.
Experience of working with this client group and of multi-disciplinary team is desirable, but not essential. We have close relationships with the training course at the University of East Anglia, offering placements and teaching on the course. We also have an excellent research department in the Trust.
