Job summary

Fantastic development opportunity for somebody with a passion for improving services and looking to progress a career within project management to deliver transformational change across the Norfolk and Waveney Specialist Services Care Group, working across our services: Mother and Baby Unit, Perinatal Community Team, Eating Disorders and Early Intervention in Psychosis Teams.

This is a full-time post (37.5 hours per week). Hybrid home working is available but there will be a requirement to travel across Norfolk on occasion.

Main duties of the job

This is a dynamic role which requires an enthusiastic, motivating individual who can engage and inspire a wide audience of stakeholders across multiple organisations and use these connections to support a committed project approach. The post holder will have an understanding of the issues and opportunities of NHS service development and commissioning with an overriding passion and experience of enabling people and partnerships to achieve outstanding outcomes.

Job responsibilities

The post-holder will ensure the successful implementation of major and complex projects that form key elements of the Norfolk and Waveney Specialist Services Care Group objectives which support the Trusts Strategic Objectives alongside the Care Group Leadership team.

The role will involve managing quality and improvement projects from inception through to implementation and evaluation. This will include responsibility for creating, producing, co-ordinating and maintaining core documentation, information and reporting, as well as the scheduling and maintenance of meetings and workshops. The postholder will be the first point of contact for enquiries about projects. The postholder will be responsible for developing, managing, implementing and maintaining information for all the workstreams and monitoring progress against key targets. The postholder will have broad knowledge and experience relevant to the role and will be using their reasoning, intellect and judgement to manage their workload, make decisions and pro-actively deal with issues independently.

These projects will engage a wide range of stakeholders and organisations and the post-holder will be required to ensure effective engagement of all parties and effective coordination of the project with other interdependent work-streams and projects. The post-holder will be required to work in a facilitative way to ensure that the aims and objectives of the project(s) are met. This will involve presenting complex and contentious information to groups. The post-holder will maintain an overall plan to deliver the project on time and within budget and will coordinate, oversee and direct the activities of the project.

Managing a wide range of complex projects to ensure short and long-term benefits for the organisation. Ensuring both existing and new work projects have a methodical and effective project management approach operating across the team and with all relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent proven experience
  • Evidence of continuous professional development in Project Management to post graduate diploma level or equivalent

Desirable

  • PRINCE 2 Practitioner / or similar project management qualification

Experience

Essential

  • NHS Project management experience or in a comparable large organisation
  • Experience of analysing areas of activity in relation to current performance to drive future opportunities for improvement
  • Relationship management skills to support effective stakeholder engagement
  • Line Management Experience
  • Experience of supporting the production and submission of business cases and bids

Knowledge

Essential

  • Competent and proficient knowledge and understanding of a range of ICT systems
  • Knowledge and clear understanding of the background to, and aims of current healthcare policy in the NHS

Desirable

  • Knowledge in the effective application of various best practice tools and techniques in project, programme and change management , service redesign, facilitation and service improvement
  • Knowledge of budget management within the NHS
