The Adult Community Mental Health Service in Norwich are looking to recruit a Band 8a Psychologist to join our team, based at The City Anchorage, Julian Hospital, Norwich. The post will cover maternity leave for 1 year fixed term.
This is a great opportunity for an 8a Psychologist (Band 7 preceptorship applications welcome) to join the service.We are looking for someone with experience, or who wishes to gain experience, of working psychologically with adults with complex presentations.
We have close involvement with the University of East Anglia and support the placements of trainee clinical psychologists and CAPs within the team.
Main duties of the job
The role involves taking on a key role in one of our three Community Mental Health Teams. The post holder will be responsible for offering direct clinical work (specialist assessment, formulation, and intervention with adults with a range of mental health difficulties and their families/carers where appropriate), as well as supporting the clinical team to integrate psychological understanding to plan care. The role will include delivering supervision and providing consultation and team formulation. There will be opportunities to provide team training and service evaluation to improve quality of care and provision.
The post holder will undertake psychological assessment to inform formulation and intervention and will offer a range of interventions. This will include 1:1 therapy, group therapy and interventions in the MDT to support access to psychological therapies. CPD and appropriate training will be supported.
The post holder will be part of a large team of friendly and supportive psychologists and therapists. You will have access to specialist clinical supervision. We have links with NSFT's award-winning research department and the UEA doctoral course.

We provide formulation driven, MDT interventions to meet the needs of adults over the age of 25 presenting with severe and enduring mental health difficulties. The post will offer opportunities for a motivated and committed clinical or counselling psychologist to broaden their experience as part of a large psychology team. Together we offer specialism in DBT, MBT, EMDR, CBT and CAT. The team works alongside other specialist services in the Care Group.
