Job description

Job responsibilities

Supporting Suffolks Childrens Homes:The work within Suffolk County Councils Childrens Homes will focus on embedding a trauma and psychologically informed culture in the homes across Suffolk. The success of the pilot in 2021 has contributed to a permanent funding agreement for the Clinical Psychology role and the continued passion and support from colleagues in the homes and SCC for the post. The role involves an exciting opportunity to embed a trauma and psychologically informed culture across multi-layers of the system such as facilitating reflective practice groups, training and formulation sessions for staff and working with the management team to review and embed practice developments such as the assessment, formulation and support of young peoples behavioural, emotional, safety and relational needs.

Hi, Im Lucy, Clinical Psychologist, and I have been working on the Trauma Informed Services Project across Suffolk Childrens homes for the past 12 months. In its time, it has been incredible to be part of a new, and innovative project, where the emotional needs of children are being wholeheartedly held at the centre. Its also wonderful to work with colleagues who are so keen and passionate about the project, improving the lives of the children they work with, and are wanting to be bold in integrating psychological ways of thinking and working into both their systems and practice. Having the opportunity to be part of, and lead on developing something innovative can be daunting, but very rewarding, when you see just how helpful psychological input can be for containing and empowering the work of childrens residential care staff. The post is very lucky to be held within a team of supportive and compassionate Psychological therapists, with varied experience, who all hold core shared values at the centre of our practice wed love you to join us!
