Job summary

Southgate Ward is based at Wedgwood House on the main West Suffolk Hospital site in Bury St Edmunds.

We are looking for an individual who is committed and able to integrate within an established large multi-disciplinary team which is supportive and friendly. We pride ourselves as a team on delivering care that is second to none and we are consistently rated as good for caring by CQC. Do you have experience with physical and mental health issues within later life? Do you have an appreciation of the wider aspects of dementia and are interested in working to support those who do?

Do you have a strong team work ethic and sense of accountability? Good assessment and communication skills and the right attributes to enhance the team are crucial, as is the ability to communicate with the wider MDT.

As a team we are keen to develop and share our knowledge. We hold case discussion and reflection sessions, and alongside individual managerial supervision you will also receive clinical supervision. You will have a personal development plan to look at your strengths and how we can work with you to build on them.

We offer a stimulating experience in a specialist service and are proud of the quality of our achievements. We are enthusiastic about working with older adults - if you are too and find people fascinating and inspiring and want to join a management team to deliver great outcomes, we have the opportunity for you.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a qualified Mental Health Nurse and/or Registered Nurse (Adult) with experience of working to support older people and their families within a MDT. You will demonstrate a sound understanding of your role as a Lead Professional or Primary Nurse and join our friendly multidisciplinary team working closely with our statutory and non statutory partners to provide appropriate interventions and promote recovery for those individuals admitted to the ward.

PLEASE NOTE: If you use a hotmail, msn or yahoo e-mail account, you will need to check your "junk" mail regularly as these email providers will divert any communication from this Trust/NHS JOBS straight into your " junk" inbox.
