Job summary

This role will be supported by a £12,000 relocation allowance.

Within Suffolk Eating Disorder Services have received significant investment as part of transformation. This post is an opportunity to be part of determining the direction of travel, to be part of leading the development of this pathway and our clinical interfaces with partners. The role of the Consultant Psychiatrist within this transformation will be essential.

The Eating Disorder Services have good links with local partners within Suffolk. This includes established links with Acute Hospital providers across Suffolk and has established links around transition with under 18s Eating Disorder Services and other secondary mental health services within NSFT. The ED team maintains involvement in the development and training of relevant staff in Eating Disorder Clinical Pathways and the effective implementation of MEED guidelines as a framework to structure involvement of Acute Services. You would be instrumental in the ongoing development of an Eating Disorders Pathway between our local Inpatient Facility.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is appointed as a senior professional to provide advanced professional expertise and clinical leadership. As such, the post holder is always expected to conduct him/herself in such a manner as to be demonstrably helping the Trust to deliver its strategic and business objectives, and to act as an ambassador at the interface with external partners and stakeholders. At no time must the post holder bring the Trust into disrepute.

Additionally, the post-holder, as is expected from the holder of a senior public position, must always comply fully with the Nolan Principles and the Standards of Business Conduct.

About us

This is an exciting time for the Eating Disorder Services in Suffolk due to some recent investment and re-development. There has been an increase in staffing and skills development. These developments are an ongoing process with a longer-term goal of expanding the service and developing robust responses to the growing and changing demands.

The teams within the Eating Disorder Service comprises of highly skilled colleagues with a compelling vision of services for eating disorders pathway across the County of Suffolk
