Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Manager to lead the Eating Disorder Service across Suffolk. The service has recently received substantial investment (£1m) to continue to develop the existing service in order to meet the needs of young people and adults and create clinical pathways. The new investment in both the children and adult pathway teams includes increasing the capacity and skill mix of the multi-disciplinary team including covering intensive support, and packages of intervention and support from the third sector namely BEAT, Wednesday's Child and MIND.
We are looking for someone to lead on the management of the service and to work with the team mangers and clinical leads on the development of clinical pathways. The Service Developments are being led by NSFT working as part of a multiagency alliance partnership which includes working closely with experts by experience, and from primary care, education, social care and health in order to meet the needs of the young people and adults with an eating disorder.
Main duties of the job
We would welcome applicants with management experience and experience of working in an Eating disorders team or within mental health services. We are looking for someone who can provide a blend of strong leadership, organisation, and management skills with specialist clinical knowledge to drive service delivery and ongoing improvement of the service.
People participation, co-production and collaboration with the VCSE are fundamental to our service model. In order to ensure development, maintenance, and systematic provision of a high-quality specialist service in line with NICE guidance, QED standards, National and Local priorities.
The post holder will be a member of the senior management team of our care group and will work closely with the other service managers, psychological therapy leads and senior nurses in order to transform our services. We value our team members and offer support for career development and as a leader ie the NHS leadership programme.
About us
NSFT is engaged in a process of significant and exciting change with a new Suffolk-wide care group for Children, Young People and Families. Recent CQC inspection has shown improvements in the services which we plan to build on as we transform the eating disorder service following the recent investment from NHSE and the CCG.
We have a new leadership structure and are engaged with internal and external transformation. NSFT in collaboration with alliance partners are striving to deliver a truly biopsychosocial approach within the 'Thrive' framework. This will require significant system changes across Suffolk to move towards a whole system approach.
If you are interested in the post or have any questions we encourage you to contact Fiona Whitfield, Deputy Service Director fiona.whitfield@nsft.nhs.uk or Sarah Gibbs, Service Director sarah.gibbs1@nsft.nhs.uk to discuss further.
