Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to welcome another HCPC accredited Practitioner Psychologist, or accredited Psychological Therapist colleague, to join the existing established psychology team working within the adult community mental health service based in King's Lynn, West Norfolk. The post can be considered on a full time or part time basis, and is likely to include a hybrid work pattern of remote and on site working.
Main duties of the job
You will be embedded within the community mental health service in King's Lynn. The psychology team offers assessment, formulation, consultation and group and individual interventions. It also offers supervision and training to enhance the psychological perspective and skills of the multi-disciplinary team. Psychology is a well-established and highly valued resource within the team, and the Psychology team enjoy good relationships with the MDT. There will be appropriate opportunities to lead or contribute to service developments, for example around Community Transformation.
We are looking for someone who can bring professional and clinical skill, as well as being able to represent a psychological perspective within the multi-disciplinary setting. You will be passionate about complex mental health, and bring a range of clinical skills and interests, which may complement or enhance those already provided. An interest in psychosis would be a particular advantage, as increasing the psychosocial provision available for these clients is a priority. You will work well within a MDT setting, and actively embrace and support a Recovery culture through co-production opportunities.
Applications from newly qualified practitioner psychologists or those due to qualify in 2022 are welcomed, and successful candidates would be employed under a Band 7 preceptorship. As part of this preceptorship, there would be dedicated funding for further CPD, such as a further therapy training.
About us
You will be professionally well supported by regular supervision, and links with networks of colleagues across the Trust area of Norfolk and Suffolk. We have good links with the University of East Anglia and a range of other training providers and offer regular training placements. We will support you to develop as a rounded professional, with appropriate CPD opportunities and specialist interests encouraged.
Professionally, you will be part of a supportive and proactive wider adult psychology team of around 25 staff in the West & South Norfolk Care Group, working across two adult community bases and an acute setting. A range of specialist skills and interests are represented, including working with personality difficulties, trauma and dissociation, working with psychosis, CBT, ACT, Mentalisation Based Therapy, CAT, EMDR, Compassion Focused Therapy, Art Psychotherapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, systemic therapy and Behavioural Family Therapy. Development of special interests is also actively encouraged. There may be opportunities for co-production and involvement with the Recovery College.
