Job summary

We're opening our newly refurbished Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit, Rollesby and need forward thinking, dedicated Registered Nurses to join our team.

This is a huge opportunity to become part of a superb team who will be specialising in care for people requiring intensive nursing interventions, within an environment which is low in stimulus but high in engagement. You'll be fully supported by our visionary management team who have pledged to work together, to make sure that we do all we can to help deliver outstanding care to people admitted to our inpatient unit.

Whatever stage you are in your career, NSFT are committed to supporting you and your development. Working in PICU is a brilliant way to expand your skill set and underpin your knowledge, that you can take with you throughout your career.

We have full and part time opportunities available and can be flexible regarding hours and shift patterns. We can offer rotations too, for those interested in working across some of the other patient pathways.

If you'd like to work for an innovative and collaborative PICU service, we'd love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

As a Registered Nurse you will play an important role in supporting service users in planning their care, in particular Personal Behaviour support plans, monitoring risk and updating risk assessments, monitoring physical health and (where planned) delivering brief interventions. As a team we are working to create a culture of psychological safety which requires honesty, openness and authenticity.

We believe that staff, who feel valued by their employers, are truly engaged, and able to provide better outcomes for our service users. We value the importance of professional progression and actively strive to create growth opportunities within our team. There will be opportunities to gain further understanding and expertise in psychological therapies and approaches, trauma informed care, reducing restrictive practices to name but a few. We want to know how you want to develop too, there will be opportunities across clinical and non-clinical pathways, the end goal is truly in your hands.

As part of the team, you will have the opportunity to plan, coordinate the day, provide personalised care whilst maintaining a safe environment and well-structured programme of activities. Also, to ensure that your junior colleagues are supported, well informed, can seek your guidance and enjoy the assurance that comes with those all-important strong healthy professional relationships.

Here at NSFT we pride ourselves on being a welcoming, talented, friendly and supportive team who like nothing better than sharing experiences and learning from each other. In addition to ongoing training and development opportunities, we are committed to providing an environment in which you can thrive.
