The Perinatal Community Mental Health Service here at NSFT are seeking a Social Worker to join our growing team. We are undergoing a period of rapid growth and expansion as part of the NHS Long Term Plan.
Our dedicated team is seeking to recruit an experienced social worker with experience of working with mothers and infants and within a mental health setting. You'll work alongside our case managers, a parent infant psychotherapist, a team of clinical psychologists and specialist nursery nurses.
This is a new role to support the two existing social workers in the team. There will be the opportunity to develop, train and increase your perinatal knowledge. We can offer specialist clinical supervision and will provide you with a protected induction and orientation programme.

Main duties of the job
The Norfolk and Waveney Community Perinatal Mental Health team is a county wide specialist service working with women in the perinatal period who have previously experienced, are currently or are at risk of experiencing serious mental illness. The mothers we work with present with a range of mental health difficulties including postpartum psychosis, bipolar disorder, complex trauma, perinatal depression, and significant perinatal anxiety.
Interventions currently offered by the social work team include supporting case managers with safeguarding the infants and children of some of the women who are experiencing mental illness, and offering a consultative role.
Our service is currently made up of two Consultant Psychiatrists, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, therapies team, case managers from a range of disciplines, two Social Workers, Peer Support Workers, Nursery Nurses, and OT. The service is supported by 2 Community Team Managers and a Service Manager.
