Job summary

Are you a Band 8a or Band 7 Preceptorship Clinical or Counselling Psychologist passionate about working with and supporting young people, families/carers and the systems around them? Do you want to be part of a team that is working creatively and innovatively to engage children and young people? Norfolk's Harmful Sexual Behaviour (HSB) Team is a successful Health and Social Care partnership creating and delivering specialist training and providing consultation and support to professionals working with young people displaying harmful sexual behaviour. The team also hold a small specialist assessment and intervention caseload and have close links with Children's Services, the Norfolk Youth Justice Service and the wider Child, Family and Young Person (CFYP) Mental Health Service.

Main duties of the job

This post will provide the successful applicant with opportunities to develop highly transferrable skills in a specialist role, through opportunities to receive training, undertake research and attend and present at events such as national conferences. The HSB team's innovative whole system approach to supporting professionals in working with children and young people in this area resulted in them winning the Most Effective Contribution Award at the NSFT Staff Excellence Awards 2022.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Clinical or Counselling Psychologist with experience of working with children and young people. The post-holder will support professionals across Norfolk in considering the impact of trauma, neurodiversity and mental health within this population of young people. In addition, there will be an opportunity to undertake specialist psychological assessment, formulation, intervention and providing supervision with support from the Principal Psychologist. The post holder will deliver some direct one to one work with young people with specific psychological needs linked to their HSB, with support from the HSB Specialist.

About us

All candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and reference checks. Norfolk's HSB Team covers the entirety of Norfolk and Waveney and there is an expectation that the post holder will be able to travel to different locations as appropriate. The post holder will have access to various office bases across the county and will be supported to work remotely as required.

  • Post-graduate degree (or its equivalent if trained prior to 1996) in clinical psychology, accredited by BPS
