Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinical psychologist to join our leadership team at the Dragonfly CAMHS Inpatient Unit.

We are a 12-bedgeneral adolescent psychiatric unit, who support young people between the ages of 13 and 17 who are experiencing a variety of acute mental health difficulties, including depression, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, psychosis and eating disorders.

The Dragonfly Unit opened in September 2016 and recently received full accreditation by QNIC.

We are strongly committed to working together with the University of East Anglia ClinPsychD Course through the creation of joint posts.

All of our clinical psychology posts come with the opportunity to workas a regional tutorup to 1 day a week as part of the UEAClinPsychDTeam. Main duties of the job

The role will involve working with young people with complex difficulties and their families; providing highly specialist psychological assessment, complex case formulation, therapy, and consultation to the team and other professionals.

We value the opportunity to think psychologically as a team, therefore it would be expected that you provide support to colleagues via individual and group supervision, reflective practice, debriefs and training.

You will be joining the team at a time where there is much opportunity to develop practice, and as the principal clinical psychologist we would be keen for you to take a strong leadership role.

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will be involved with a number of strategic projects, including those looking at the use of psychological formulation, outcome measures and staff training.

You will also be involved in the development of our care pathways in line with the New Care Models initiative, in collaboration with other adolescent units in the East of England.

Skills in DBT and working with emotion dysregulation, trauma, complex attachment presentations and eating disorders are desirable. There is also scope to coordinate the use of group-based interventions for both young people and their families in collaboration with other professionals delivering therapeutic interventions on the unit, including our child and adolescent psychotherapist, assistant psychologist and occupational therapists.

This could be an ideal career development opportunity. Specialist supervision and support will be offered from psychologists within the specialist services care group.
