The Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust Eating Disorder (ED) team is growing. We offer exciting opportunities for clinical and / or service leadership for doctors with an experience in Eating Disorders and a passion for working in a team following best practice and delivering excellence.
As a consequence of both succession planning and expansion, we are seeking full-time Eating Disorder CAMHS Consultant(s) [two posts] as well as Specialty Doctors [two posts] working across the age range.
Main duties of the job
Our Eating Disorder service covers children and adolescents across Norfolk and Waveney and adults in addition in the east of the county only (Great Yarmouth and Waveney).
Three jobs are on offer. A Consultant CAMHS ED to help with children and adolescents across the county with a base in Norwich but aiding the West (Kings Lynn) as well as the East (Great Yarmouth and Waveny GY&W) flexibly with colleagues, an Adult ED Consultant with a focus on the east of the county and a Specialty Doctor working in an age inclusive manner across children, adolescents and adult patients.
Working alongside an experienced Consultant and Specialty Doctors, you will be joining a skilled multi-disciplinary team and working in a beautiful part of the country. Norwich a former capital of England and with the coast close at hand, good schools, a high quality yet affordable cost of living and much to do, this is an exciting opportunity to join and help shape a dynamic service.
About us
Successful candidates will have further opportunities for negotiable managerial or academic special interest sessions including, for the Consultants, being Clinical Lead of the Eating Disorder service across Norfolk and Waveney, developing or continuing research interests, engaging in service development and/or expanding teaching activities.
The successful candidate will be able to serve as a trainer for higher trainees and a teacher for colleagues as appropriate.
As a growing team and this within a - within our lifetime - unprecedented global pandemic, new ideas, new ways of working and a culture of being prepared to try, fail and try again are welcome. Unthinkable change has been able to be rapidly implemented as a virtue of necessity and this opens the doors to both protect the excellent practices the team is regarded for as well as to bring in bright ideas from elsewhere or developed here.
