Job summary

Are you an experienced nurse ready to take on leadership responsibilities & motivated by the prospect of being part of a supportive and caring team.

Glaven ward is an all male ward and we are looking for highly motivated staff to bring their experience and leadership skills to enhance the team.

We have renovated our PICU, Rollesby and need dedicated, driven Charge Nurses to help lead and support our new team.

Whatever the challenges, we believe in opportunities and there is always an opportunity for kind, compassionate, considered clinicians here. We have strengthened our nurse leadership, have clear and exciting nursing pathways with training and development to support your aspirations.

Within this everyday leadership role, your responsibilities will allow you to plan & coordinate the day, to ensure safety and to build a team spirit. Providing good care and governance is a fundamental part of what we do and, in this role, you will maintain the standards by supporting and nurturing the team.

What can you expect from us? You will have a structured induction and ongoing support from managers and senior clinicians. We understand everyone has different commitments outside of work, so can offer flexibility around working hours and patterns. If you want to progress clinically, in management or both - you will have access to programmes and pathways to support your career progression.

Main duties of the job

We need your skills to help service users and staff to understand the complexities of distress and how we support people through difficult times and indeed their families. You will need to guide staff in planning care, monitoring risk and developing safe systems of working.

As a team we are working to create a culture of psychological safety which requires honesty, openness and authenticity. Our practice is guided by compassion, kindness and patience; and you will have a critical role in supporting this.

Particularly important to us is the respect for diversity, and environmental safety, for which your contribution will be greatly valued by the MDT and service users. By adopting a QI methodology, you and the team will bring new and innovative ideas to this very special area of care.

This role offers a great opportunity to guide and teach the team and students to understand the importance of recognising the person in your care and managing the distress of that individual in a humanistic and least restrictive way.

This is an incredible opportunity for personal development and to influence a fresh approach to acute psychiatric care. It is a really exciting time to join us, - if you're looking for a leadership role , we would love to hear from you!

About us

Here at NSFT we pride ourselves on being a welcoming, talented, friendly and supportive team who like nothing better than sharing experiences and learning from each other. In addition to ongoing training and development opportunities, we are committed to providing an environment in which you can thrive.

Why work for us? We have challenges as a Trust, but we have ambitious aspirations, are pushing ahead with exciting transformation work and we need dedicated individuals to support us on our journey. We have strong, established nursing networks coupled with an exceptional leadership team who will ensure you are truly cared for and cared about.
