Job summary

Are you interested in eating disorders or child and adolescent mental health and want to make a difference to the outcomes for our young people? Do you have a passion for helping young people and their family and carers struggling with mental health problems such as eating disorders?

With the increase of referrals due to the pandemic, we are taking the opportunity to expand our core Child and Adolescent Community Eating Disorder teams and have set up an intensive day treatment programme based in Norwich

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a Part-time Mental Health Nurse to join our adolescent intensive treatment programme for Eating disorders.

While the role will predominantly within the intensive treatment day centre, the post holder may be required to see patients in the community or at the general acute hospitals, therefore ability to travel is essential.

There will be opportunities to develop in your role enabling you to practice a range of core skills and a good knowledge of eating disorders. Within the intensive treatment programme, you will be part of a dedicated multi-disciplinary team offering more intensive nursing and therapy interventions and practical support around mealtimes to help young people and their families engage actively in the recovery process and prevent the need for long hospital admissions away from home, family and friends. You will have some management responsibilities and will be expected to lead support staff on a day to day basis with the support of the Senior team.

Previous experience of working with individuals with eating disorders is not essential and we will welcome applicants who may have transferable skills and would like the opportunity to develop in a specialist area. As a team we are committed to strengthening and creating real opportunities for learning, improving and working creatively. We provide clinical supervision, reflective practice, training and opportunities for professional development and aim to nurture staff development and are passionate about improving standards and user experience.
