We are pleased to invite prospective applicants to apply for the Consultant Psychiatrist position to work in our Adult Eating Disorder team working within our Children, Families and Young People's (CFYP) Services.

Why join our team?

Our CFYP services continue to thrive and innovate. We led the way nationally by developing the first 0-25 specialist service in the UK. The Suffolk CFYP service is unique and aspires to address the issues for children and young people's mental health and wellbeing from 0-25.

Main duties of the job

You will join a service with highly skilled colleagues and a compelling vision of services for children, families and young people. You will need to be committed and able to collaborate and share skills and expertise with an established multi-disciplinary team, all of who have a passion for high-quality care to meet the needs of the children, families and young people across Suffolk.

The 0-25 service is unique and aspires to address the needs of children and young people and remove the barriers and transitions in services. We work with our local partners to respond to the pressures in the system and with a supportive and compassionate senior leadership team, they will encourage you to develop innovative ideas for quality improvement making our services safer and focused on the needs of young people.

About us

We want someone who can lead by example and provide Clinical leadership to the Eating Disorder Services across East Suffolk in order to deliver high-quality care to patients who suffer from ED and have very complex needs.

The Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust's unique CFYP service aspires to address the issues raised by the children and young people's mental health and wellbeing taskforce. Over the past 12 months, CFYP has seen the expansion and growth in existing and new services such as Perinatal Community Mental.

The service has good links with the local Acute Hospitals providers across Suffolk and has established links around transition with under 18s Eating Disorder Services and other secondary mental health services within NSFT.

We also offer

  • Up to £12k relocation expenses
  • Access to £800 per annum professional development budget
  • Ability to apply for Clinical Excellence Awards
  • Inclusion on the Consultant on-call rota for the higher level with requisite pay depending on frequency

Less than 2 hours from London and serviced by excellent transport links, Norwich is one of few UK cities that still retain a strong local identity and with that a strong sense of community - people walk down the street and say hello to each other, baristas remember our coffee order, you get to know about interesting local projects.
