Hi, my name is Sarah and I am the Service Manager for our community team within Children, Family and Young People's services here at NSFT.
Since I started working for the Youth Service I have received a really warm welcome and have been really impressed that I have been given the opportunity to make a difference, to put my own spin on things and the role has been moulded to suit me and my skill set.
The Central Youth teams are strong and credible, we have a friendly team atmosphere where ideas are welcomed and explored. Due to an increase in funding, we are advertising for multiple roles within the Central Youth teams.
Full time and part time applicants will be considered.
Main duties of the job
The role of the Clinical Nurse Specialist involves being part of the Leadership team. You would work closely with the Community Team Manager, the Principle Psychologist and the Lead Consultant. You would hold a smaller, more complex caseload and we would expect you to work provide clinical support to the team and be comfortable with being part of strategic decision making. You would line manage members of the team and would have the opportunity to access management training to help you develop your leadership skills. There would also be opportunity to clinical training, such as the non-medical prescribing course.
Whilst experience working with children and young people would make you perfectly suited to this role, we are really open to welcoming people from clinical backgrounds who have experience in other areas of mental health. We understand that you will be able to bring with you a wealth of skills and experience to the team and would welcome ways of thinking.
We are looking for a dedicated mental health professional with either Nursing, Social Work or Occupational Therapy qualification. We would love to hear from you if you have experience in working with people who suffer with mental health difficulties and you have at least 12 months post qualification experience in a mental health setting.
