Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a consultant clinical psychologist to lead and develop our Memory Clinic and Older People's Community Teams in the North Norfolk and Norwich Care Group. This is a post that will work alongside the other consultant psychologists in the Trust and will sit within the NSFT wide psychologist's senior leadership forum.
There's an increased focus in the NHS Long Term Plan to ensure people have a timely diagnosis of dementia. Part of this role is to help meet this need locally.
You will be an HCPC registered clinical psychologist. A post-graduate diploma or MSC in clinical neuropsychology is essential. QiCN is desirable.
Main duties of the job
To lead on the development of Treatment pathways within the specialism and ensure improved access to evidence based psychological therapies.
To provide specialist neuropsychological and psychological assessments across the Memory Clinic and Older People's Community Teams.
To employ specialist clinical and therapeutic skills in assisting with adjustment to a dementia diagnosis and in the support of families and carers.
Clinically, the postholder will be expected to work with more complex diagnoses, which may include several comorbidities (e.g. young onset; physical health complications).
To provide specialist psychological advice and consultation to the clinical teams and to collaborate with the older people's service manager and care group's lead consultant clinical psychologist for the effective recruitment, professional appraisal and identification of CPD needs for psychologists, psychological therapists, assistant psychologists and CAPS within the service.
