Job summary

*An exciting and unique opportunity has presented itself to work as a Charge Nurse at a Rehabilitation Unit which is proven to reduce re-admissions to hospital*

Suffolk Rehabilitation and Recovery Service (SRRS) is a Community Rehabilitation Unit with the aim of supporting individuals with severe and enduring mental illness with the long term focus of establishing service users in the community setting and preventing relapse.

At SRRS we have a 10 bedded unit offering 24 hour support. our support includes continues assessment of individuals capabilities with regards to planned daily living activities and assessments based on the recoverymodel which endeavours toassist a move on to independent or further supported accommodation.

Main duties of the job

The Role

You be responsible for line managing and supporting staff to work effectively both on an individual and service level. There will be responsibility to ensure that concerns are addressed both individually and collaboratively with the team. SRRS have high standards and to ensure quality we would expect you to be able to dynamically make suggestions and use audits to improve the service.

You must have a full and valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle.

Working Hours

We are looking for a Charge Nurse - Band 6 to work 37.5 average hours per week. Requirement of the post is to engage in a flexible shift pattern, potentially working weekends and night shifts.

Shifts areas follows:

Early Shift: 07:00 - 15:00

Late Shift: 13:00 - 21:00;

Night Shift 20:30 - 07:30.

The vast majority of shifts will be day shifts.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a nurse with experience who has an understanding and desire to work in a rehabilitation setting. It is essential that you have an understanding of recovery and are enthusiastic to develop both personally and professionally. We are looking for someone who is able to support both staff and service users and can be dynamic in creatively thinking about how to improve the service user experience.

In addition we would support applicants for a developmental band 6 role to support you transitioning from a band 5 to band 6 role and provide you with the support to develop your skills to build up confidence in performing in a band 6 role.
