Job summary
NHS Norfolk & Waveney CCG recognise that our dedicated staff in the Primary Care Networks (PCN) are sometimes faced with challenging and potentially traumatic situations and require support to deal with these well. This post is newly created for a TRiM (Trauma Risk Incident Management) Manager role. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who will develop the service in the PCN Networks, working alongside the existing NSFT TRiM team in the Primary care networks (PCN's) in Norfolk.
TRiM is a peer delivered service where practitioners are allocated to engage with staff within 24-48 hours of serious and/or traumatic event. This scaffold is to normalise possible reactions to trauma or stress, assess staff who may be at psychological risk and to support and follow up within a certain timeframe.
The TRiM Manager oversees & offers supervision to the practitioners, manages incidents alongside the site staff, delegating, overseeing & ensuring TRiM staff are supported during this intervention. Bringing mindful awareness to ensure all involved are as psychologically safe as possible, overseeing documentation & follow-ups.
In addition to the delivery of TRiM, the TRiM Manager will be responsible for promoting and presenting the TRiM service to the various PCN's.
Main duties of the job
The role of the TRiM Manager (TM) is to compassionately support management staff and TRiM practitioners post incident. They will offer this following an incident or serious incident where trauma may have been experienced by staff going about their daily duties.
The postholder must be flexible and able to respond to the needs of staff members by being available when required. Some remote and flexible working can be facilitated but the postholder will be required on occasions to travel throughout the Norfolk and Waveney area to deliver TRiM interventions in clinical areas and to develop the service with the external partner agencies.
A key aspect of the role will be to develop and present anonymised case studies, training programmes, learning tools, events and workshops. This will enable all clinical services to learn and improve their communication and engagement with staff following incidents and improve staff retention and an improvement in sickness and absences following incidents.
This role is varied and offers the opportunity for those trained in the TRiM management course (we will train you if required) to become a core element of the support we offer to our wider staff group.
We are looking for individuals that can demonstrate the highest degree of compassion, sensitivity, professionalism, communication, integrity, and resilience to help those who have experienced trauma.
About us
Here at NSFT we pride ourselves on being a welcoming, talented, friendly and supportive team who like nothing better than sharing their experiences and learning from each other.
We believe that staff, who feel valued and supported by their employers are able to provide better outcomes for our service users.
We will actively promote flexible working to ensure a healthy work life balance.
Included with this role are:
- NHS pension
- In house & external training programmes. We will offer TRiM Manager training through March on Stress for the right candidate.
- Starting annual leave of 27 days per annum increasing to 33 days pa based on length of service (plus paid bank holidays)
